The Martin double-pitch, single-strand, type A sprocket is suitable for use with the 2080/C2080 chain. With a two-inch, double-pitch configuration, it is available in conveyor or drive series for standard rollers. High carbon steel has high strength and durability.
Type A sprockets do not have a hub extension and have a narrow profile. Some of the benefits of this style include the ability to accommodate the drilling of holes for mounting, used with large diameter shafts, can be welded directly to other apparatus, and are easily adaptable for bushing, bearings, sleeves, etc.
For standard rollers, the conveyor and drive series specifications have number of teeth options ranging from 17 to 30, and stock bore diameter of 15/16 inch for 17 to 25 teeth, and 1 3/16 inch for 26 to 30 teeth. The pitch diameter ranges from 5.536 inches for the 17 tooth up to 9.620 for the 30 tooth option. The approximate weight is from 3.4 pounds for the 17 tooth to 10.7 pounds with the 30 tooth sprocket.
Specially made double-pitch sprockets are recommended for use with a double-pitch chain. However, ANSI standard sprockets can be used provided they have at least 30 teeth. Since double-pitch chains engage every other tooth, they can be indexed for longer sprocket life. Indexing must be done manually on sprockets with an odd number of teeth. For drives with 31 teeth or more, Martin recommends using standard sprockets with series C-2000 chains. All Martin sprockets adhere to ANSI standards.
